Barbara Ann Lima, 67, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
She was born August 1, 1958 in St. Joseph to William and Emogene (Pickeral) Snyder. She was a 1976 graduate of Benton High School.
Barbara married Michael Lima on December 11, 2012. He survives of the home.
She was a Collections Supervisor at SST for many years, where she built lifelong friendships.
Barbara was a woman of many talents and endless creativity, known by all who loved her as a devoted wife, mother, Nanny, and friend. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where she poured love into every meal and baked good she made.
Beyond her gifts in cooking and baking, she had an incredible eye for decorating. She filled her home with warmth through her decorating, creating spaces that were both welcoming and full of character. (Chip and Joanna Gaines had nothing on her -- her style and creativity were truly one of a kind.) Her love of gardening brought color and life to every season, and she could make even the smallest flowerbed bloom into something extraordinary.
Most of all, she will be remembered for the way she cared for those around her -- always giving, always creating, always making others feel loved and at home. Her legacy will live on in the traditions she passed down, the recipes shared, the flowers planted, and the countless lives she touched with kindness and grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob Snyder, Robert Snyder, and Bill Snyder; and sister, Sharon Fattig.
Survivors include her husband, Mike; children, Rob Barker (Jaime), Tim Freeman (Jamey), Mary Bates (Bart), Lauren Hofmeister (Cameron), and Raquel Hopper (Eric); grandchildren, Alex Barker, Holden Modlin, Brody Bates, Brooke Bates, Brogan Barker, Brixtyn and Brettyn Hofmeister; sisters, Jeannie Withrow and Debbie Miller; and her beloved dog, Hosmer.
