St. Joseph native and former Missouri Western golfer Brad Nurski claimed his fourth Missouri Amateur Golf Championship Sunday at St. Joseph Country Club, defeating Presten Richardson of Mount Vernon in Match Play 11 & 9.
Nurski did not lose a hole in the scheduled 36-hole match. Nurski finished with a 66 on his first 18 holes, while Richardson carded a 72. Nurski shot a 32 on the next nine, while Richardson totaled a 38.
Nurski becomes just the sixth player in the tournament’s 117-year history to win four titles. This win is his first in the event since 2018.
Nurski has earned himself an exemption into the 2024 U.S. Amateur Golf Championship in Chaska, Minnesota, which will take place from Aug. 12-18.
