Charges have been filed in a weekend shooting that left a teenage girl in critical condition.
St. Joseph police identify the suspect in the shooting as 40-year-old Ronald Callaway, who is being held without bond.
Police say officers responded to a call about a shooting in the south end early Saturday evening. Police say a 16-year-old girl was shot once in the upper body in what officers reported to be a domestic disturbance. The shooting occurred at around six o’clock Saturday evening in the 6800 block of Ollmeda Street.
The girl was sent initially to Mosaic Life Care hospital in St. Joseph and then transferred to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
The investigation continues.
