Irene Lucas, 104, of Atchison, Kansas died at Vintage Park in Atchison. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Wednesday July 17, 2024, at the Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Atchison, Kansas with Pastor Stephen Lucas officiating the service, burial will follow the service at Sunset Memory Garden in Atchison.
Visitation will be held 6-8PM, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Faith Bible Fellowship. Memorials are suggested to the Faith Bible Fellowship and may be sent in care to the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
Irene was born on October 15, 1919, in Cannelton, WV, the daughter of Dryden and Pearl (Howell) Estep. She married Carlos Lucas on July 6, 1941, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1980. With her husband she owned and operated Lucas & Son Eggs and worked for Ball Brothers in Muncy, Indiana. She was a charter member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Atchison, Kansas.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, embroidery, baking pies, quilting, and puzzles. Irene loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son; Pastor Stephen Lucas, six granddaughters, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Barbara, five brothers, and two sisters.
