Howard "Dean" Hunt, 71, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
He was born August 23, 1954 in St. Joseph, son of Hazel and Robert "Bob" Hunt. He graduated from Benton High School, class of 1973. Dean was a Union Pipefitter, working with the Local 45 Plumber and Pipefitters Union. He was an Avid Golfer and Member of Duncan Hills Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and spending time with friends and family.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack Moore, Jerry Moore, and Robert "Red" Hunt. Survivors include daughters, Nichole (Brian) Schmidt and Rachael (Nathan) Rich, sister, Carol McIntyre, all of St. Joseph, grandsons, Tanner and Carson Schmidt, Jaxson, Carter, Peyton and Ascher Rich, and Deans beloved dog, Moe. Dean has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.
A Celebration of his life will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Lung Association.
