A St. Joseph police officer was taken to the hospital for treatment after a crash on South Belt Highway as he responded to a call.
St. Joseph police report the officer had his lights and siren on early Tuesday afternoon, responding to a crash on the South Belt at Pear Street, when he collided with a SUV near Sacramento Street. The officer was taken to Mosaic Life Care for treatment. The officer had a ride-along passenger onboard who was not injured in the wreck. The two people in the SUV were not injured. Police report the accident caused minor damage to the two vehicles.
No identifications of those involved have been released by the St. Joseph Police Department.
