The city of St. Joseph has announced that masks will be required this weekend at the Sound of Speed Airshow at Rosecrans Memorial Airport.
The show is put on by the 139th Airlift Wing, which is a federal military installation and is subject to an Executive Order signed on January 20, ordering that masks be worn on all federal property until directed otherwise by the federal government.
The air show takes place this Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days.
Anyone who plans on attending the airshow and Open House will need to present a free general admission ticket, which can be downloaded at stjairshow.com.
The Sound of Speed Airshow is the first airshow to take place in the United States since the start of COVID-19. The event typically draws thousands of people across several states.
