Mary Ann (Martin) Bumbacher, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023.
She was born September 12, 1944, the daughter of Donald and Alma Martin. Mary Ann attended Hyde Elementary and was a 1962 graduate of Benton High School. She obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from Northwest Missouri State College in 1966. She taught eighth grade Language Arts at Benton High School and then at Spring Garden Middle School. She retired after thirty years of teaching. She met her husband, Don Bumbacher, while he was teaching at Benton. They were married June 12, 1970.
Mary Ann was a member of Missouri Retired Teachers Association, Saint Joseph Retired School Personal Association, P.E.O. Chapter HC, Jesse Janes Red Hat Society, and The Runcie Club. As a youth, she attended Hyde Park Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and in-laws, Vincent and Geraldine Bumbacher.
She is survived by her cat Winston and close friends Harold and Rebecca Stewart, Lynn Hudson and Glen Drake, Richard and Valerie Wilson, Margaret Martin, and Patti Bennett.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The friends will gather one half hour prior to the service.
