UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the southbound lanes on I-29 at the accident site have been opened.
Interstate 29 in far northwestern Missouri has been closed as hazardous material is cleared from the highway.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol closed I-29 from mile marker 99 to mile marker 107 due to the wreck of a tanker truck carrying fuel. The truck overturned in a construction zone. The patrol shut that section of the interstate down while crews clean up the mess.
I-29 is closed to both north and southbound traffic from about 10 miles north of Craig to 10 miles south of Rock Pork in Atchison County.
The patrol does not have an estimate at this time on when it will reopen.
