The Missouri House of representatives passed a transportation bill Thursday raising the speed limit on rural highways to 75 miles an hour.
The bill also removes inspection requirements for most passenger vehicles, and adds a five-year renewal for license plates. Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska already do not require routine inspections.
It also includes a provision requiring proficient English reading capability for commercial drivers.
The bill now heads to the Senate for further debate.
