Nicholas A. Claycomb, 65, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away, July 30, 2023. Nicholas was born August 22, 1957, in St. Joseph to Leonard and Patricia (Garvey) Claycomb.
He graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School. Nicholas served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp; receiving a honorable discharge.
He was in management for Safeway Grocers and Walmart. He retired from Mosaic Life Care working in the cafeteria.
Nicholas married Karla J. Middleton on September 13, 1983, in St. Joseph and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Christopher Claycomb, Jacob Claycomb, Noelle Hazelrigg (Gregg), Jacey Claycomb, Jalyn Claycomb, Stephanie Claycomb, Jason Claycomb; several grandchildren; siblings Jeff, Julie, Pat, Tom, and Tony; other relatives and friends.
He was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and dogs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment and full military honors will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 5:30 pm, with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm.
