Patrick Mahomes dominated the voting for the NFL MVP award. Now, he’ll try to break the MVP curse. Mahomes, who also won MVP in 2018, easily outdistanced Jalen Hurts Thursday, receiving 48 of 50 first-place votes from a nationwide panel.
Mahomes will try and become the first NFL MVP since Kurt Warner in 1999 to win the Super Bowl in the same year.
Mahomes earned 490 points to 193 for Hurts, who got one first-place vote. Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs face Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on Sunday in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. central. Coverage on KFEQ (680, 95.3) Sunday starts at 1 p.m.
