William "Bill" H. Martin Jr., 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born November 18, 1945 in St. Joseph, son of Katherine and William Martin.
He graduated from Central High School, class of 1964. On September 10, 1976, he married Nancy Drake in St. Joseph. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad and later worked for Johnson Controls and Spirit Miller. Bill loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and dogs. In 2007 he became an ordained Minister. He was a member of the Pentecostal's of St. Joseph Church where he enjoyed working with the Celebrate Recovery program.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Martin, brother, Walter Martin, sisters, Joyce Knadler, Elizabeth Best and Rosanne Gilbert.
Survivors include wife, Nancy Martin of the home, children, Christi (Mike) Collins of Kansas City, MO, William (Jessica) Martin of Las Vegas, NV, Jamie Martin of St. Joseph, Joseph (Cassidy) Martin of Oregon, MO, and Joshua (Christina) Martin of Elwood, KS, 18 grandchildren, Lura, DJ, Carl, Tritt, Dakota, Christopher, Kody, Michael, Destiny, Hayleigh, Tyler, Emilea, Maddisyn, Kaydense, Aiden, Gabby, Emily, and Kailey, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday. The Interment will be at Bellemont Cemetery in Wathena, KS.
