Andrew Co. man accused of DWI after injured in motorcycle crash

ANDREW COUNTY —A Missouri man was injured and accused of driving while intoxicated after an accident that occurred just before 11:30p.m. Friday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Yamaha WR 450 driven by Kiefer R. Gillenwater, 27, Fillmore, was southbound on Route H one mile south of Fillmore. The driver lost control of the motorcycle. The vehicle fell over and slid across the road.  Gillenwater was ejected and left the crash scene. 

First responders located him two miles south of the crash and arrested him on requested charges of felony driving while intoxicated-aggravated offender, driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and for failure to maintain control of the vehicle. Andrew County EMS transported him to Mosaic. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the MSHP.
