Betty Ruth Anders Beaver, 82 of rural Agency, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. Betty was born on October 5th, 1942 in Camden, Arkansas to Bertha Everlean (Cason) and Otha Anders. She graduated from Fairview High School in Fairview, Arkansas where she was an active student in extracurricular organizations and excelled in academics as an honor student.
Betty was joined in marriage to EJ Beaver in June of 1960, from this union they welcomed 3 sons Edwin JR, Roger, and Jonathan. They settled in rural Agency with their growing family. At this time she also furthered her education by enrolling at Missouri Western, graduating in the class of 1972 with her bachelor's degree in education. With her degree she worked with students with learning disabilities. Being nominated as teacher of the year twice. She was employed with the following schools though her years of teaching: Mid-Buchanan, St. Joseph School District, and the Doniphan County Education Cooperative. She collectively taught for 30 years. In addition to teaching, Betty also devoted her teaching talents to numerous programs within the schools with programs such as Learning Disabilities Program, Preschool Screening Program, Adult Basic Education and coached numerous sports through the years. She also worked at Red Lobster for 18 years while teaching.
Betty was active in area programs such as the Pony Express Association of the Blind, where she served as president for several years, the Missouri Council for the Blind, Board member of OATS. She was also a member of the Hope Fellowship Church.
Survivors include sons, Edwin Beaver, JR. (Patsy), Jonathan Beaver (Kelly), Grandchildren, Brandy Knight (Ryan), Brooke Gunter (Jacob), Christopher Beaver (Katie), Amanda Anders, Great Grandchildren, Marley Knight, Matthew Beaver, Nathaniel Beaver, Brynlee Beaver, Caleb Cook, Carter Cook, and Violet Cook.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Johnnie Anders, Sister Sherry Lynn Grulick, Son Roger Beaver, and Daughter-in-law Vicky Beaver.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am with the service officiated by Pastor Earnestine Blakley following at 11:00am at Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel at 3609 Frederick Blvd. St. Joseph, MO 64506 on Tuesday November 26th, 2024. A private interment will take place at the Faucett Cemetery in Faucett, Missouri.
