The Clarinda A's scored a run in all but one inning and rolled to an 11-1 win over the St. Joseph Mustangs in seven innings at Phil Welch Stadium Wednesday.
Clarinda outhit St. Joseph 11-5, and the A's now move into first place in the MINK League North Division for the moment.
Clarinda put the game away with four runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. St. Joseph also committed five fielding errors in the loss.
Mustangs pitcher Tanner Schmidt was charged with the loss, giving up four hits, six walks and three earned runs in four innings. Noah Bodenhausen went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the way offensively.
St. Joseph will rematch with Clarinda on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Phil Welch Stadium.
