Vicky Lynn Minks Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family August 19, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, KS. She was born on August 7, 1945, in K.C., MO to Dorothy Powell (Catalano) and John Victor Powell. Vicky was a graduate of the West Platte R-II High School in Weston. During the 1960’s, her parents were the owners of Max’s Camp at Bean Lake. Vicky resided for a time in Egypt and New York; and later also lived in Washington state and Korea, with her daughter Tracy. She worked as an accountant for over 60 years for various car dealerships, including having worked for Pete Franklin for over 40 years. Vicky loved a good game of pool, boating, and riding motorcycles.
She is survived by her sons Mike Johnson of Independence, and Jon Johnson of Rushville, MO; her daughters Debbie Duncan of Weston and Tracy Kiclicheck of Texas; her brother Richard Catalano of Branson, MO; half-brothers John and Steve Welch of Georgia; step-son Ric Minks of K.C., MO, step-daughter Trisha of Texas; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 1 on the way. Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepfather George Catalano, formerly of Raytown, MO.
A visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025, at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 26, at the funeral home; followed by interment in Sugar Creek Cemetery in Rushville, MO.
