A baserunning miscue cost the St. Joseph Mustangs a shot at tying up the game, and the Kansas City Monarchs picked off Jack Mosh to hand the Mustangs their first loss of the season 2-1 at Phil Welch Stadium.

The Mustangs trailed 2-0 until the eighth inning, when Trevor McCollum singled into right field to drive in a run.  In the ninth inning St. Joseph got two runners on, but with two outs Mosh was picked off by Blake Colon, who moved from right field to the pitchers mound.

There was no box score for this game.

The Mustangs are now 3-1 on the season and return to MINK league action tomorrow, taking on the Jefferson City Renegades at Phil Welch Stadium.  First pitch is at 6:30pm, gates at the ballpark open at 5:15.
