Brewster Benson Snyder was peacefully embraced by the arms of God, while surrounded by several family members, in Valrico, Florida on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
Brewster was born March 31, 1939 in Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of Elmore “EW” William Snyder II and Helen Marjorie Stephens Snyder. Brewster leaves his son Brewster Benson Snyder II (wife Sandy), son Timothy Lucien Snyder (wife Esperanza), daughter Christina Mills (husband Roy) and daughter Lorraine Gervais (husband Glenn); grandchildren Heather Mills, Rebecca Mills, Bret Mills, Danielle Christensen, Gabrielle Mendoza, Bonnie Snyder and Timothy “TJ” Lucien Snyder Jr and great- grandchildren Gianna Mills, Makenzie Mills, Ava Christensen, Stella Christensen, Liam Wilson, Elijah Mendoza and Mila Mendoza.
Brewster was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lou Snyder his parents Elmore “EW” William Snyder II and Helen Marjorie Stephens and his daughter Rebecca Snyder.
Brewster was a proud alumnus of Kansas University, graduating in June 1966 with a Bachelor Degree in Science, he wouldn’t leave the house without wearing his KU ball cap which frequently drew attention from other fans, Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
He joined the United States Air Force upon graduation and spent 20 years proudly serving his country, retiring with the rank of Captain. Brewster specialized in Explosive Ordnance Disposal and received many citations and commendations during his commission. Some of those were the Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Gallantry Cross, Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, among others.
Brewster was always recognized as a kind man by all. He enjoyed a long life on earth and spent his time enjoying his family, reading his bible and being there for each of us. He will be missed but his family knows he is in heaven and that brings peace to all.
