Louise Jeanette (Weezy) Davis, 92, formerly of Elwood, Kansas passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community in St. Joseph, MO, where she had resided the past two years.
Born on January 20, 1933, in St. Joseph, Louise was the daughter of Florence and Charles Shaffer. She spent her life rooted in the community where she was born and raised, met and married Albert C. Davis and spent 43 wonderful years together. Together they built a family that remained the center of her world throughout her life. She is remembered by her daughter, Debbie Lyons; sons Albert Davis (Jo) and Doug Davis (Lisa); daughter-in law, Maeva Davis. Wheezy's family extended to numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who cherished her deeply.
Weezy was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband Albert, son Richard, daughter Jeanette Frump, son-in-law’s Glen Lyons and Billy Lynn Frump.
Weezy had a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. Bingo, crafts, family game nights, an avid Chief’s fan, caring for sick family/friends, camping and fishing kept her active, as well as occasionally visiting the Casino to play penny slots. During her golden years, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, watching reruns of old westerns, coloring on her iPad, and shopping.
Her warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to family created memories that will be treasured for generations to come. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank the Benedictine Living Community and Mosaic Hospice for their excellent care, love, and support.
Services to be on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Visitation will be 2-3:30PM and Celebration of Life at 3:30 P.M. at the Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Benedictine Living Community Activity Fund for residents.
