Elvera died on October 3, 2024, at age 90. She was born in Platte County, MO on April 8, 1934, to Elmer and Erma (Meyer) Robker.
She lived most of her life in Platte County where she attended Hampton Country School and Platte County High School, graduating in 1948 and continued her education at Missouri Valley College where she received a BS in Elementary Education in 1956. Elvera taught 25 years at Southeast and Chinn Elementary Schools in the Park Hill School District. While at Missouri Valley College she met her first husband Hank Bartels and they were married in 1957. They had three children, Kerry (deceased), Tracy, and Todd. After Hank’s death in 1981, Elvera remained a widow until she married Jim Hoffman in May 2003. He survives at the home. Also surviving are Tracy (Todd) Graves, Todd (Kim) Bartels, Grandchildren Katie, Hank, Joe, and Ben Graves, and Jacob and Luke Bartels.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents, Hank Bartels, and Kerry Bartels.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6th from 5 – 7 pm at Rollins Funeral Home, Platte City, MO. The funeral will be Monday, October 7th at 10:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Farley, MO. Burial in Platte City Cemetery.
