Rodney Marion Parker, 71, of Troy, Kansas passed away on July 26th, 2024 at Medicalodge in Atchison, Kansas.
Rodney was born on September 9th 1952 in St. Joseph to the late Ray and Virginia (Hanlin) Parker. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy, Kansas where he learned of salvation and was baptized into Christ with all of his family on the same day. Rodney graduated from Troy High School in 1970 and went on to receive his Associates in Arts degree from Highland Community College in 1972.
His career always centered around the sale of auto parts. First he worked in the family owned business of Parker Auto Supply and then moved on to other retail auto parts stores.
Hobbies throughout his life included roller skating, fishing, nostalgia, working on computers and classic car knowledge.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother, Ray Parker of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and his sister, Sherry (Bill) Duley of Rolla, Missouri. Other survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Monday July 29th at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, Missouri. A graveside service will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Family and friends are all encouraged to attend either or both services.
