Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead near railroad tracks Tuesday morning in south St. Joseph.
Officers with the St. Joseph Police Department responded to the area of South 22nd Street and Garfield Avenue around 11:00 a.m. following reports of a body near the tracks. Upon arrival, police located a deceased man estimated to be in his late 50s.
Investigators said there were no immediate signs of foul play and the man did not appear to have been struck by a train.
The investigation into the cause of death remains ongoing.
