A second man has been sentenced in the 2022 New Year’s Day drive-by shooting that left a 55-year-old St. Joseph man dead.

Nineteen-year-old Brison Waggoner pleaded guilty earlier to firing a gun from a moving vehicle into a home.

Waggoner has been sentenced to 24 years in prison in the shooting death of 55-year-old Larry McClain. Earlier, 18-year-old Nicholas Minear of St. Joseph was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the death.

The two admitted to shooting from a vehicle into a home in the 1100 block of Randolph Street in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, 2022.
