ATCHISON COUNTY —A bicyclist is recovering from injuries in an accident that occurred just after 4p.m. Friday in Atchison.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, a 2025 Toyota RAV4 driven by Joan Lowdon, 41, Bonner Springs, was northbound in the 100 Block of River Road and merging into traffic from a parked position. The SUV struck a bicycle ridden by Samuel Wilbur, 49, Atchison, that was northbound on River Road.
EMS transported Wilbur to Amberwell Hospital for treatment of injuries. Police released no additional details.
