As the Kansas City Chiefs return to St. Joseph for another year of Chiefs Training Camp at Missouri Western State University, the “Welcome Chiefs” signs are also returning once again.
Signs will be available to the public for free on Thursday, July 16th from 12 to 3pm at the Visitors Center at the East Hills Library, located at 502 N. Woodbine Rd., and from 12 to5pm downtown at the St. Joseph Convention & Visitors Bureau, at 911 Frederick Ave, while supplies last. There will be a limit of two signs per person to allow as many residents and businesses as possible to have an opportunity to pick them up.
Any signs remaining after Thursday will be available during regular business hours at both locations. Regular business hours for the Visitor Center at East Hills Library are from 9am to 3pm Monday through Saturday while regular business hours for the Convention and Visitors Bureau are from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. The St. Joseph Convention & Visitors Bureau recommends people put out any saved signs from previous years to maximize the visibility of signs around town.
“It always feels special once it’s time for these signs to start going up,” Director of Communications and Marketing for the St. Joseph Convention & Visitors Bureau Christian Mengel says in a news release. “When you factor in things like Mahomes being healthy again, Kelce committed to coming back with his every-increasing popularity, and a lot of new faces on the team, this has the potential to be one of the more well-attended camps we’ve seen in recent years.”
