Deanna Morrison March 16, 1940-July 11, 2025

Deanna Dauphene (Cocke) Morrison, 85, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at the South Lake Village Rehabilitation & Care Center in Lancaster, Nebraska. Deanna was born March 16, 1940, in Bronaugh, MO to Marion Francis and Wanda Dean Pearl (Worsley) Cocke. She was a 1958 graduate of Fayetteville High School; later earning her associate degree in nursing in Atlanta, GA. Deanna married Edwin Gordon Morrison Jr. on February 2, 1968 in Fayetteville, NC; and since he was a military chaplain, the couple moved to numerous areas over the years. They lived in Nebraska while serving the Methodist ministry, then served at the Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico; and later in Fall City, Nebraska, where Deanna and her husband eventually retired, before moving to Platte City, MO. Deanna enjoyed family genealogy, antiquing, reading, shopping, and singing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Deanna is survived by her sons Stephen (Roxanne) DeLay, Jeffrey (Yvonne) DeLay, Kenneth (Joyce) DeLay; her daughters Janet (John) Hanson, and Catherine (Sam) Jeffers; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her brother John Cocke; and her sister Janet Smith.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at the United Methodist Church of Platte City; followed by a 10:30 am. Funeral service. Interment will take place later in the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Memorial contributions can be given to Habitat for Humanity.
