Our beautiful Irish Angel, Jean Alice Manuel, 86, of Havensville, went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was born September 18, 1937 at Newton, the daughter of Mack and Ethlyn Hargett Fellingham. She graduated from Phillips High School in Phillips, Texas in 1956.
Jean was a full time farm wife. She had also worked as a Nurse’s Aide/Ward Clerk at Community Hospital, Onaga for thirty-five years, at the Pyramid Dress Factory in Onaga, and at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Onaga. She was a member of the Lutheran Faith.
She married her honey, Tex R. Manuel, on April 7, 1957 at Borger, TX. He survives, of the home.
Jean loved spending time with family and friends and always had a welcoming heart to anyone stopping by. She also loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with her kids and grandkids at the casino. Jean also loved hosting family get togethers and gatherings at the farm.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ethlyn Fellingham and Ross & Stella Manuel, a son-in-law, Bill Wesley, a sister, Janet Rannals, and a brother, Mick Fellingham.
Other survivors include two daughters, Tammy Wesley and Terry Jordan (Terry), all of Havensville, a son, Tex “Rick” Manuel, II (Teri), Havensville, a sister-in-law, Merlinda Fellingham, Albuquerque, NM, a brother-in-law, Dwayne Martin, Topeka, seven grandchildren, Brandi Wesley, Chance Wesley, Colt Wesley (Richelle), Tanner Jordan, Casey Parker (Scott), Tayla Manuel and Tex “Trey” Manuell, III, nine great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 25th at the Havensville Christian Church. Burial will follow in America City Cemetery. Jean will lie in state after Noon on Sunday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga, where a visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Havensville Christian Church or H.R.H.S., and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 312, Onaga, KS 66521.
