Joanne Weigler, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026.
She was born August 2, 1931 in Bolckow, Missouri, to Cleo and Ruth (Bell) Smith.
Joanne entered into a union with Austin L. Wells, with whom she had two wonderful daughters. After her marriage to Austin came to a close, Joanne found love once again. She married Charles Davis Weigler, Sr. on August 20, 1964, embarking on a journey of companionship that lasted until his passing in 2007.
Joanne's existence bloomed like the gardens she tended with such dedication. She was a member of the Garden Club for many years.
A passionate and lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Joanne's enthusiasm for her team was infectious, and her love for the game was evident to all who shared a game day with her.
Joanne was also an avid reader, her appetite for the written word was as insatiable as her love for her Cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; siblings, Nina Coyle, Bobby Smith, and Jean Smith.
Survivors include her children, Tracy Angold (Roger), Bethann Fuson (Greg); grandchildren, Adrian Angold (Emily), Amity Zepeda (Vicente), Ashby Garcia, Bailey Portman Rush (Derek), and Cooper Portman (Bonnie); great-grandchildren, Sloane Portman, Rowan Davis, Tiago Garcia, Isa Garcia, Greycen Portman, Nora Angold, and Ellington Angold.
The family would like to thank Mosaic Hospice, especially Jason and Brittany and Barbie with Freudenthal for their wonderful care.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 28, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the St. Joseph Public Library or Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph.
