PLATTE COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 7a.m. Monday in Platte County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Ford Escape driven by Rhonda M. Crane, 60, Kansas City, Mo., was southbound on Interstate 29 just south of 64th Street.
The vehicle rear-ended a 2010 Ford Fusion that had stopped in traffic from an earlier crash. The impact pushed the Fusion into a 2013 Chevy Malibu driven by Katie L. Schweder, 37, St. Joseph that was also stopped from the earlier accident.
EMS transported Schweder to St. Luke's North and Crane to North Kansas City Hospital. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
