Sherry L. Coon, 75, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024.
She was born August 8, 1949 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Dallas M. Sr. and Verlea M. (Widener) Kretzer. Sherry graduated from Lafayette High School in 1967. She later graduated from Front Range Community College with her associate’s degree in science and electronics. She had retired from Avaya Communications after 35 years.
Sherry married Gary Coon on December 21, 1968.
She was a member of New Home Baptist Church, Red Hat Society, and AFL-CIO.
Sherry was an avid Broncos fan. She also enjoyed reading and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gary; sisters, Mary Vaughn and Pamela Stewart.
Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie Coon, Michelle Gentile (Alfonso), and Goldie Brix (Steve); grandchildren, Jesse Meyer (Beth) and Shondra Aitchison; great-grandchildren, Valery Acevedo-Mancia and Everett Meyer; numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 3, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Bethel Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
