Missouri man hospitalized after car strikes deer

MERCER COUNTY—A Missouri man was injured in an accident just after 3a.m. Sunday in Mercer County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Timothy Q. Metcalf, 20, Newtown, was eastbound on U.S. 136 twelve miles east of Princeton.

The car struck a deer in the road and then rolled backward into a ditch. Mercer County Ambulance transported Metcalf to Putnam County Hospital.  The MSHP did not report seat belt information.
