Karen Sue Martin, 85, of Atchison, Kansas passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born December 14, 1940, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Jessie (Frakes) Shughart. She married Walter L. Martin on December 29, 1962, in Miami, Oklahoma, and just celebrated sixty-three years of marriage. She worked as a sewing machine operator until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing and playing Bingo.
Karen is survived by her husband and brother, Gary (Diane) Shughart, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Richard) Jenkins.
Graveside services will be held 11:00AM, Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Nortonville Cemetery in Nortonville, Kansas with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating.
