Darrell R. Kennedy, 75, of Plattsburg Missouri died Saturday March 1, 2025, at a Leavenworth Kansas healthcare center. Born on April 3, 1949, to Coy and Leona (Anderson) Kennedy in Smithville MO. Darrell attended Plattsburg schools and was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Viet-Nam war. Darrell retired from United Transport in 1999 after many years of service. He was a member of the Plattsburg American Legion Post 97. On June 10, 1974, he married Donna Gordon, she survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Jacob Eads; brother Alan Kennedy; sister Judy Mick.
Survivors include his wife Donna of the home; 3 sons Tommy (Terry) Eads, Brandon (Sarah) Kennedy both of Plattsburg; Justin (Tessa) Kennedy of Platte City, MO; 8 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild. His sister Carol Shaffer of Smithville, MO and his brothers Bruce Kennedy and Roger Kennedy both of Plattsburg and several nieces and nephews.
Healing farewell services will be held 10:00 Friday March 7, 2025, at the Bailey & Cox Family Funeral Service Plattsburg. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery Plattsburg. The family will gather with friends Thursday March 6, 2025, from 6-8PM at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
