ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have made an arrest.
Just before 9a.m. on Saturday officers responded to a burglary that had occurred at an apartment in the 200 block North 3rd Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Investigators determined that forced entry had been made during the night into an apartment located within the complex. A suspect took clothing and household items.
Officers located two suspects, one of which lived in the apartment complex. Kala Woods and Janice Jimenez-Saavedra were taken into custody on requested charges of burglary and theft. Jimenez-Saavedra was also charged with disorderly conduct and interference with law enforcement. Police also recovered the stolen items, according to Wilson.
