Peggy L. Duncan 1934 - 2023

Posted Dec 14, 2023 5:21 PM

On December 12, 2023, Peggy L. Duncan, 89, was called home to heaven to join her husband and son in the red mountains of Colorado where they spent many family vacations.

She was born on September 26, 1934, to George and Jessie (Jeffrey) Green in Leona, Kansas.

On August 30, 1952, Peggy married Johnnie Duncan at Bellevue Church near Leona, Kansas. Johnnie and Peggy loved to travel and camp. Their favorite place was the San Juan Mountains of Colorado where they would spend their time “jeeping” the old mining trails. They made countless memories until his passing in 2011.

Peggy also enjoyed her Santa collection, genealogy, hand-quilting, tending to her garden and going out “two-stepping” to old time country music with Johnnie.

Peggy spent 25 years working with the Division of Family Services in St. Joseph, Missouri as an office secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Johnnie; son, Ron Duncan; sister, Betty Srader, and grandchildren, Ashley Duncan, Amy and Jonathan Cordry.

Survivors include her children, Chris Wright (Danny), Julie Beahler (Michael Goodman), and Mark Duncan; grandchildren, Dana Oerman (Tim), Blake Beahler (Lauren), Logan Beahler, Breanna Beahler, Justin Duncan (Darcy), Michelle Peterson, Melissa Bratton (Scott), Tim Cordry (Theresa) and Kyle Cordry (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Devin Halbirt, Rowan and Brantley Beahler, and Noah and Annabelle Duncan; and her beloved cats, Milo, Callie and Miss Kitti.

The family wants to express their gratitude to the Fourth-Floor nurses at Mosaic Life Care, as well as the amazing staff at Benedictine Living Community.

Per Peggy’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Condolences can be sent to Dana Oerman, 2910 Jennifer Lane, Country Club, MO 64506.

Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
