Savannah voters approve one school issue, but not another in Tuesday’s election.
A proposal to increase the school tax levy by .10 to pay for increases in teacher salaries in the Savannah R3 School District passed 846 to 702.
Also on the ballot was a proposal to increase the tax by .15 to raise $4 million over the next 10 years for building maintenance. It fell short 763 to 785, according to unofficial election results released by the Andrew County Clerk's office.
