St. Joseph voters gave overwhelming approval to extending the half-cent sales tax for capital improvements for another five years.
Buchanan County voters provided similar results to the marijuana sales tax on the ballot Tuesday.
The Capital Improvement Program half-cent sales tax received 3,588 votes to only 722 in opposition, a split of 82.29% to 17.71% according to unofficial results from the Buchanan County Clerk's office.
As for the county issue, 4,290 Buchanan County voters cast ballots in favor of assessing a 3% tax on the sale of recreational marijuana with only 906 voting against the issue; a 82.56% to 17.44% split.
Slightly more than 10% of the registered voters in Buchanan County went to the polls.
