The St. Joseph School District has named Samantha Davis as the new Director of School Improvement for the 2026-27 school year, replacing Kendra Lau, who is retiring June 30th.
Davis, who was recently approved by the St. Joseph Board of Education for the position, brings 18 years of experience in education with expertise in academic planning, social-emotional support, and state compliance. Davis began her career in the district as a school counselor and currently serves as Coordinator of College and Career Readiness and Family Services.
A graduate of the Saint Joseph School District, she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Missouri Western State University, a master’s degree in School Counseling from Northwest Missouri State University, and a doctorate degree from Liberty University.
As a lifelong St. Joseph resident, she is deeply connected to the community and district she serves. She and her husband are raising their two children, who currently attend schools within the district.
