John Daly was born Sept. 24, 1946 to Thomas and Rose Marie Conner Daly. He died December 24, 2023 in St. Joseph, MO.
He was a graduate of Christian Brother HS, class of 1965. He married Katherine Blachly on Oct. 21, 1967 in St. Joseph and they were married 56 years before his passing.
He worked at Continental Can for a short time; most of his adult career was spent in the insurance industry.
John was a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, where he was a member of the choir. He was also cubmaster of Pack 31. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4th degree Council 569 where he served in many capacities including Faithful Navigator, Grand Knight, member of the bowling team and the honor guard.
John was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; a brother Thomas "Pat" Daly, and son Thaddeus Daly. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons Todd Daly (Amanda) and Shaun Daly and daughter Elaine Richey (Derek), all of St. Joseph. He was a proud grandparent to several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and grandchildren of the heart. He is also survived by brothers Michael (Pat) Daly, Deltona Florida; Ken Daly, Kansas City; Dennis (Jerri Ann) Daly, St. Joseph and sisters Marie Houston, Janet Daly and Margaret (Frank) Turner all of St. Joseph and their families.

Mass of Resurrection will be Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church.
Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
Inurnment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
