John William Harmer, 66, of Edgerton, MO passed away February March 1, 2026.
He was born on April 1, 1959, to Phyllis Maxine (Teeple) and William Carrel “Billy” Harmer in Smithville, MO. He grew up in rural Edgerton, MO and in 1977 he graduated from North Platte High School.
John was a life-long farmer, spending all his time on the farm, attending to cattle, planting and working in his shop. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his death by his son Danny Harmer; his parents Billy and Maxine Harmer; and his sister Brenda Wilder.
John is survived by his son Cory (Melissa) Harmer; his step-son Tim Huntsman (Phillip Griffith); his sister Karen (Harmer) Belt; his nieces and nephews Sarah (Pat) Ledford, Andy (Charllene) Landis and Billie (Cody) Routon; his great-nieces and nephews Nick, Chase, Kellan, Lily, Andie Mae, Sophia and Lukas; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Edgerton, MO.Donations may be made to the Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City.
