Gwenevera Arlene Wilkinson Massey, 90, passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 2024, in St. Joseph, surrounded by her family. A St. Joseph native, she attended Bartlett High School in St. Joseph. After getting married, she worked in factories and later did housework while raising her family. Supporting her children and grandchildren in school and activities was something she loved doing. She loved telling hilarious stories about her family and was dedicated to them. Ms. Massey was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Her parents Ira and Dycie Wilkinson, siblings Ira Jr, Lora, Sherman Sr, Omeaul, Cora Jean, Donald, Bethel, Wanda, Gayle, and Alec Wilkinson preceded her in death.
In celebration of her homegoing, she leaves her children, Victoria (Leon), Marcus (Marcella), Stephanie (Tyrone), Eric (Shirl), Jennifer (Jerome), Keith, Lisa (Harold), 16 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Gwenevera A. Massey will be held Friday, September 20th, 1:00p.m. at Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church, the family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday September 19th at the church, Interment Belmont Cemetery Wathena, Kansas. Arrangements entrusted to Bullock Family Funeral Chapel.
