Jimmie Morris Collins, 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 in a Kansas City, MO. hospital. He was born January 6, 1942 in Maryillle, MO, son of the late Virginia and Herschel Collins.
He served in the United States Army. Jimmie was an Auto Mechanic working for John Collins repair, as well as other area shops. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, tinkering on his tractors, telling jokes, and going to Betty's cafe. He was a member of VFW post 6760.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Douglas Crisp, brothers, Albert, Don "Bob", Karl, Bill, and Dick Collins, and his sister, Virginia Piveral.
Survivors include long time companion Henreitta Crisp, sons, Kevin (Karen) Collins, Olathe, KS, James Collins, St. Joseph, MO, daughters, Kim (Robert) Groce, St Joseph, MO, and Jennie (Chad) Russell, St. Joseph, MO, son, Skip (Amy) Crisp, brothers, John (Phyllis) Collins, and Jerry (Lela) Collins, sisters, Mary Hicks, Pat Baker, and Joyce (Dean) McMichael, 20 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm Saturday November 9, 2024with a Celebration of life service to follow starting at 1:00 pm Saturday, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Inurnment with full Military Honors at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Whispering Pines section.
