Charles “Charlie” Reed, 67, of Leavenworth, Kansas, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on September 7, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1958, to Samuel and Helen Reed.
Charlie was a hardworking man who lived and loved with his whole heart. He briefly, but proudly, served in the United States Army before dedicating much of his career to serving the City of Leavenworth for 19 years. He also found joy in helping others through his lawn care endeavors, often lending a hand to those in need.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Judy Reed; daughters Jennifer Reed (fiancé Jason Moppin) and Kristina Russell (husband Billy Russell); sons Christopher Reed, James Reed, and Lawrence Valles; grandchildren Alenia Russell (fiancé Jason Vossmer), Madison Russell, and Jason Moppin Jr.; and great-grandchildren Blake Vossmer, Madelyn Imbrogno, and Keegan Imbrogno. He also leaves behind siblings Jim Reed (Ona), Albert Reed (Janet), Joe Reed, and Mike Reed.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Helen Reed, and siblings David Reed, Barbara Stobie, and Philip Reed.
A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on September 22, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, KS.
Above all, Charlie will be remembered as a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He brought laughter to many, worked tirelessly, and lived out his faith in both words and actions. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
