Jo Ann Wagner, 71 years of age, of Barnard, passed away on May 9 ,2025, at her home. Jo Ann was born in Norton, Kansas on August 3rd, 1953, ninth of twelve children, born to Maurice and Helen (Walton)(Keyser) Pinner. She received her education from Wilsonville Public School and earned her GED in 2008.
A memorial service for Jo Ann Wagner will be held on May 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in 428 Wilson St, Guilford, Mo.
On December 18, 1970, Jo Ann was united in marriage to Wiley Claude (Frank) Wagner in Cambridge, Nebraska. The couple made their home in McCook, Nebraska where they raised their four children, before making their home in Barnard in 1999. Jo Ann worked as the general manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken for over 35 years. She then moved to a new career as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Mental Health inside of a Correctional Facility for 7 years before she retired in 2019.
Jo Ann enjoyed challenging her sister Dorothy in their Facebook games, trying to beat each other to the next level, loved doing yard work, an occasional craft and making a "few" trips to the Casino. She never missed a chance at cheering on the Chiefs, especially with a certain Tight End. Jo Ann was a great cook, her family especially enjoyed the Holiday meals together. She made sure everyone felt special and always loved, when she was around. Don't get it wrong though, if you wanted to get one past her, you better be quick, because she could whip out a comeback before you knew what hit you.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband; her parents & step father John Pinner; her mother-in-law-Evelyn Wagner; two Father-in-laws-Boyd Wagner & Wiley Frank; three sisters-Linda Keyser, Betty Morris & Dorothy Barber; two brothers- Jimmy Keyser & Jerry Keyser; four brother-in-laws-Wayne Hansen, Dean Barber, Larry Wagner, & Ronald Wagner; two sister-in-laws-Virginia Hanes & LaDonna McCully & six nephews Ricky Alexander, Scott Keyser, Jeff Bradley, Jerry Donaly, Tommy Keyser, & Mathias Keyser; one great niece Ashlyn Keyser (unborn child) & one great nephew Kamron Fegley.
Jo Ann is survived by her four children: Dawn Wagner of Barnard, Mo; Shawna O'Brien of Barnard, Mo; Boyd Wagner & his wife Stephanie of Kansas City, Mo; & Valerie Wagner & her partner Kristy Elder of St. Joseph, Mo; her four grandchildren: Shaina Wagner; Caden Wagner; Stephanie Beardsley and her Husband William Beardsley; & Adrianna Wagner; three brothers: Mike Keyser of Holdrege, Ne; Tom Keyser & his wife, Jennifer of Fairbury, Ne; Craig Keyser of Council Bluffs, Ia; three sisters: Marjorie Hansen of Staplehurst, Ne; Shirley Bradley and her husband, Harold of Holdrege, Ne; Patty Sisneros and her husband Rudy, of Frederick, Co; three sister-in laws: Diana Kraning and her husband, Kevin of Brighton, Co; Donna Edmundson and her husband Billy; and Debbie McKinny; 5-Brother-in-laws: Don McCully; Ed Hanes of Trenton, Ne; Don Evans and his wife Margaret; David Frank and his wife Cindy; and Danny Frank; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great nephews, other close family & friends.
A family and friends gathering will follow, with food at the Community of Christ Church.
