An expert on technology says artificial intelligence is here and business owners must learn how to use it or be left behind.

George Hoole of NuMind Tek says the biggest question business owners have to ask about AI is how can I apply it to my business?

“Smartest business consultant you ever met. Smartest marketer you ever met. Smartest sales coach you ever met,” Hoole tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post. “The challenge is how do I fit it in the business?”

Hoole says more business owners are holding back on using AI, because they do not understand its capabilities. He advises business owners to begin research on AI and then jump in and see how effective it can be for them.

“We’re building capabilities maps of what the AI can actually do,” according to Hoole.  “The first place you start is (to) ask the AI:  I’m performing this task. How do you recommend, using AI and your capabilities, how do you recommend that I perform this task and how will you change this task? It’s a dialogue.”

Again, as strange as it might seem, you can use AI to explain how AI can be used.

“You need to start looking on YouTube, because there are multiple people that are explaining different aspects,” Hoole suggests. “And then you need to start using. Start having a dialogue. First and foremost, ask the dialogue how should I conduct a conversation with you? And let him teach you.”

Hoole was one of the presenters at last year’s St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce Small Business Summit.
