Mark Douglas Chinski Sr. entered into eternal rest on July 15, 2023 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born on November 27, 1958 in Joliet, Illinois to his parents Steven Douglas and Betty (Stogsdill) Chinski and grew up in Braidwood, Illinois.
Among many accomplishments, Mark served 7 years in the US Army, earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, and was a published author. His adventurous spirit enabled him to embark on several career paths that included soldier, laboratory technician, software code writer and truck driver.
Mark loved the great outdoors and regularly went camping and fishing. His hobbies included coin collecting, woodworking, and all things tech related. His greatest joy was sharing his knowledge of the Bible. When Mark was 17 years old, he had a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ sparking his lifelong passion for the Word of God and Bible doctrine.
Mark is survived by his sons Mark Chinski jr. and David Chinski, his mother Betty (Stogsdill) Wood, his stepmother Jan Chinski, his brother Steve A. Chinski, his sisters Michele Ball, Erica Myscofski, and Erin Callaway, his brothers- in- law Joe Myscofski and Jack Callaway, and his ex-wife Jessica Chinski.
Mark is now reunited with his father Steven Chinski, his stepfather Melbert Landers, his brother-in-law Densel Ball II, his paternal grandparents Matthew and Madeline Chinski, and his maternal grandparents Albert and Bertha Stogsdill.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Riverside Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. Immediately following the funeral Mark will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. Arrangements under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
