Donald D. George, 61, of Savannah, MO passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at a local hospital in St. Joseph. He was born May 27, 1962 to Walter “Tom” & Willah Jean (Kennedy) George.
Donnie graduated from Savannah High School where he participated in Track. Donnie enjoyed running and held many school and state records. He never hesitated to remind anyone that he could still outrun them.
Donnie was a hard worker, he worked at Co-op and later worked in construction and was a member of the operators union. He could operate almost any heavy equipment and liked doing it. Donnie liked to spend time outside. He was a fan of circle track racing, especially sprint cars. He enjoyed Dr. Pepper and prided himself on smoking meat for all of the family occasions. He also took pride in being a jokester.
Survivors include his children, GeanAnne (Johnny) Evans of Fillmore, Dallas (Cara) George of Rea, Cameron (Brooklynn Spoonemore) George of St. Joseph, and Gage (Maddy Fischer) George of Rea; Step-children, Anthony (Courtney) Gabriel and Samantha (Chad) Bodle; brother, Tommy (Linda) George of Savannah; grandchildren, Carson Thomas, Matthew Evans, Tracer George, Kinley George, Haylynn George, Lynden George, Kaiden Jackson, Mazikeen George, Kameron George, Brantley Gabriel, Piper Gabriel, Baylor Bodle, and OakLynn Bodle.
Memorial visitation and family receiving hours will be 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday, March 11, 2024 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home.
