After the Central boys volleyball team made it just one game away from the state Final Four, marking the best finish in the three year's of the program, head coach Dan McCamy earned top honors in Class 2
McCamy was named the Missouri High School Class 2 Coach of the Year. The Indians finished the season with a record of 29-7-1, and earned a Suburban Red conference championship, as well as their first district championship in Class 2 District 8.
In the quarterfinal matchup, Central led Rockhurts 2-0 in sets, before the Hawklets rattled off three straight wins, ending the Indians season one match shy of the Final Four. The match between Central and Rockhurt was the lone match in the Class 2 quarterfinals to go longer than three sets, with every other match being won 3-0.
McCamy is set to return next season with Central boys and girls volleyball as the head coach, as the St. Joseph School District makes its shift to two high schools.
