
ATCHISON COUNTY—A Kansas man avoided serious injury in an accident just before 3p.m. Thursday in Atchison County.
A 2005 Pontiac Grand AM driven by Frank Busenbarrick, 57, Atchison was southbound on the U.S.73/U.S.59 connecting link, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.
After stopping at the stop sign, the Pontiac proceeded to cross U.S.59. An eastbound 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by Michael Bell, Keokuk, Iowa, struck the Pontiac.
Atchison County EMS treated Busenbarrick at the scene. He was cited for failure to yield, expired tag, and no proof of insurance, according to Wilson. Bell was not injured.
